Narratives and Mavericks

This program is framed by two sonatas: one by Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach that unfolds like a short story, full of twists and turns, and another by Franz Schubert that expands like an epic novel. At its center is a celebration of the zany interplay of words and music in the works of two great 20th-century mavericks, Erik Satie and John Cage.
